Reforest Latam

Reforest Latam. Making reforestation scalable

Why We Support This Project

Afforestation on degraded lands could reduce/sequester 22.04 to 35.09 GT of CO2 equivalent between 2020 and 2050.
— Project Drawdown
Wildfires are becoming more common, burning nearly twice the forest cover they consumed 20 years ago.
— Global Forest Watch (World Resources Institute)

How It Works

Reforest Latam restores ecosystems and creates forests at scale. It combines biotechnology with planting capsules called iSeeds, dispersed by autonomous drones, which can plant thousands of trees a day. This works in deforested land and in areas where natural regeneration is limited, including remote or rugged terrain that is hard to reach by conventional methods.

  • Primary SDG
    15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

  • Target SDG Addressed
15.2. By 2020, promote the implementation of sustainable management of all types of forests, halt deforestation, restore degraded forests and substantially increase afforestation and reforestation globally.

  • Type of Impact
    Mitigation, Regeneration.

  • Impact Measurement
    Restored area, CO2 captured.

“Nature is resilient; if we help it by removing the pressure, it will return”
